The choir was formed in 1964 and membership peaked at 98 in its heyday. Nowadays we are much smaller and we are always delighted to welcome new members. The emphasis is very much on enjoyment and we are gradually introducing more modern material to appeal to a wider audience. Whilst having the ability to read music would be a asset it is by no-means a requirement. Potential members are given a period of familiarisation with singing before deciding which choir section is most appropriate (ie either Bass, Baritone, Second Tenor, or Top Tenor.). There is no formal audition – we just want you to enjoy the singing experience!
Our Concerts
We are looking forward to entertaining you with a mix of familiar songs such as ‘Fields of Gold’ and ‘The Song of the Jolly Roger’; and some newer numbers such as the ‘The Book of Love’ and ‘The Fields of Athenry’.
